Who We Are

The North American Mycoflora Project is a collaboration between professional mycologists and citizen scientists to create a comprehensive online compendium of all species of macroscopic fungi (macrofungi) in North America. The project encourages amateurs, working with professionals, to collect, document, preserve dried specimens, and sequence DNA of macrofungi throughout the continent. The project is overseen by the North American Mycoflora Project, Inc., a charitable 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization registered in Indiana, USA.
