Grant Awardees

Congratulations on being awarded a grant from the North American Mycoflora project. We thank you for applying and look forward to working with you as you begin to prepare to send in your samples. This page will help you to understand the next steps to take to start the sequencing process.

First Steps

As a part of the grant, you will receive a free set of tissue collection tubes with a buffer solution in the mail. You will need to place an order on our website for these tubes.

  1. Register / Login to mycoflora.org.
  2. Click the link in your award email and fill out the form to request your tissue collection tubes.

This will ensure we are mailing them the correct address. Expect to receive your tubes in 2-3 weeks.

How do I collect my tissue?

Please review our documentation on vouchering before you start the process of collecting your tissue. http://mycoflora.org/vouchering

You can view our tissue collection protocol here: http://mycoflora.org/tissue-collection

Please let us know if you have any questions or if any of the instructions are unclear. We would be eager to speak with you, as this will help us to improve our online resources.

I have collected all of my samples. Now what?

The final steps are to send the specimens and spreadsheet to your partner fungarium, and to send the box of tissue samples to our sequencing facility.

Fill out this form when you are ready to submit your samples to the sequencing facility. We will then let you know which facility to send your specimens to.
